[Johannesburg, 15 June 2023] – Sturdee Energy, an African Independent Power Producer, is pleased to confirm the signing of a power purchase agreement for 40 MWac of solar power to Pan African Resources PLC (“PAR”), a gold mining company headquartered in South Africa.
The solar power plant has been developed under an innovative approach where multiple buyers are contracted off of one project. The plant has a capacity of 75MWac and PAR will take the first 40MWac that will generate clean energy for their South African mining operations. It is envisaged that the project will avoid greenhouse gas emissions by an annual average of 159 100 tonnes and significantly lower the energy costs for the mining company.
